Meet THE OWNER

 Hi, I’m Tori — the stylist behind all those before-and-after transformations!

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Charlotte with my family in 2020, right in the middle of a nationwide lockdown. Leaving Illinois was a leap of faith, but North Carolina quickly stole my heart — the seasons, the sunshine, and definitely the milder winters compared to back home.

I’m also a proud mom to two boys, Ripley and Slater. Motherhood is a huge part of who I am, and when I’m not behind the chair, I’m usually on the go with sports, scouts, birthday parties, or sharing the everyday joys (and chaos) of parenting.

My career as a hairstylist began in 2012, though in truth, I’ve been one my whole life. I was the friend who did everyone’s hair, starting in middle school. (I even gave my first haircut at age 10 — and let’s just say it’s a story worth laughing about now!) From a young age, I knew this was the path I wanted, and I feel lucky that passion has never wavered.

After cosmetology school, I trained in a highly regarded, departmentalized salon in the Chicago area, where I completed an intensive, year-and-a-half color-focused apprenticeship. That foundation, and the mentors who poured into me, shaped me into the stylist I am today.

In 2021, I began working at a high-end Charlotte salon, diving deeper into my color specialty while building a strong clientele. By 2022, I invested in my dream of becoming an extension specialist. It quickly became my greatest passion — and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

In 2023, I launched Colored by Tori LLC and made Salon Lofts at Metropolitan my professional home. Since then, I’ve continued to invest in advanced extension and color education, because I believe you can never stop growing. I pride myself on creating flawless results while always prioritizing the health of your natural hair and being transparent with every client.

For me, nothing compares to the moment when a client looks in the mirror after a transformation — seeing themselves with renewed confidence and admiration.
